Natural Skincare Ingredients

1. Jojoba oil

Jojoba oil comes from the seed of the Simmondsia Chinensis plant, which is a shrub native to America. When pressed this oil is the same consistency as the oil that our skin naturally produces (sebum). This makes it readily absorbed into our skin, so it’s a no-brainer why it’s number one on the list of natural skin care ingredients. Jojoba oil is full of vitamins and minerals for optimum skin health, including vitamin E which is essential for smooth and supple skin. Vitamin E is an antioxidant that repairs damaged skin and protects it from the free radicals that can damage skin cells so it’s a great choice for natural skin care.

2. Rosehip oil

Rosehip oil comes from the seeds of a Rose bush and is essentially the ‘fruit’ of the rose. It contains a powerful combination of vitamins, antioxidants and essential fatty acids which make it well known in natural skin care products for its ability to moisturise and reduce scars. Rosehip oil’s high linoleic acid content helps to prevent dry and flaky skin. It’s also lucky enough to be high in vitamin C so it actually works to help cells produce collagen within cells. Collagen is a protein which is made up of amino acids and it makes up a large part of our skin, hair and nails so it’s essential to good skin health which is particularly important for those with dry skin.

3. Avocado oil

You may find it surprising to know that an Avocado is actually a fruit not a vegetable and even more so that avocado oil is extracted from the pulp of the fruit not the big seed in the middle. Which makes it different to most other edible oils!  Being one of nature’s, super foods avocado oil helps dry skin to heal by providing it with the Vitamins C and K. As well as the minerals potassium and folate, so it’s no wonder it’s one of the ideal natural skincare ingredients.
